The library media staff want students and employees to become/remain lifelong readers and learners as well as effective users of information technology.
The SHS LMC has an extensive collection of books and materials to help carry out this goal. Users have access to more than 3,000 fiction, 6,700 nonfiction, and 3,100 reference books. National and local newspapers come in daily and more than 90 different magazine titles arrive each month. Students have online access to historical newspapers, government documents, national and international wire services, newspapers and many periodicals as well. Many of these databases offer home access as well. See Mrs. Gargano or Ms. Lowe for usernames and passwords.
There are also desktop computers, laptop computers, Chromebooks and iPads available in the library for students to use to complete research, write papers and send and receive school email.
The LMC is open on school days from 7:15 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. Students who need computer access evenings, weekends or vacations can use one of the eight school district computers located at the public library.
The library provides a comfortable environment where everyone can read and work during lunch, before and after school and during study halls.
Come on in.
