School Visitor Building Check In

Our district is transitioning from the Raptor system to Visitor Aware, a new platform that will provide a smoother and more efficient check-in process for all our guests.

All of our doors are locked during the school day. When a visitor comes to the building during the school day, he/she will enter the first set of doors into a vestibule. Once inside the vestibule, there will be a small camera and buzzer to alert the main office of arrival. At this point, the visitor will wait for an office staff member to buzz him/her into the building office.

Once a visitor enters the office, he/she will be required to check in using a Visitor Aware IPad. Visitors are asked to present a photo ID upon check-in. They will have a picture taken of themselves and their photo ID. Using ID scanning, Visitor Aware is able to use the gathered information to check against national sex offender databases, government watchlists, legal injunctions, and custom-banned visitor lists across all 50 states.

Upon passing the screening process, visitors can then be granted specific access and receive a printed badge indicating that they are allowed to be in the school. Once ready to leave, the visitor shall stop back in the main office to check out.

Future visits to that building will not require the added step of ID scanning. Once the visitor is in the main office, they will simply take their picture at the IPad kiosk and check in. They will still need to check out in the main office before departing the building.

Our districts uses Visitor Aware to track both visitors and volunteers in all our buildings.  If you do not have an accepted form of ID, please contact your building office.
