Inclement Weather
In the winter months especially, it is important to monitor the weather and its impact on school operations. Each year, it is not uncommon for snow, ice, or cold to lead to a district-wide school closure. During the spring and summer, we may experience tornados.
About
The decision to close, delay or dismiss school due to inclement weather conditions will be reviewed as early in the weather event as possible. The District Administrator will confer with the Supervisor of Transportation and his/her area peers prior to making a decision. The district strives to have decisions communicated out by 6:00 a.m. to ensure parents/guardians have time to make arrangements for their child(ren) if needed.
2-Hour Delays: As a reminder, our district utilizes 2-hour delays during winter weather events. This approach balances safety concerns with educational continuity. Please note that breakfast will not be available on 2-hour delay days, but lunch will be provided as usual.
