Request for School Assignment Transfer
School Assignment Transfer Requests
The school assignment transfer process provides an opportunity for students to attend a SASD school that is outside of their regular SASD attendance boundaries. Transportation is not provided to students attending with an approved school assignment transfer and the Stoughton Area School District reserves the right to annually reevaluate school assignment transfer requests.
Applications for the following school year are accepted beginning January 1st of the current school year. Applications are due March 31st.
- Applicants will know if their request has been approved or denied before the end of the school year.
- Parents will be notified of the approval/denial of the request in writing.
Second-round applications open April 1st, with applications closing July 1st.
- Applicants will know if their request has been approved or denied by July 30th.
- Parents will be notified of the approval/denial of the request in writing.

Look up your elementary school boundaries (Subject to change at the discretion of the District.)
