Board Goals & Dashboard
Board Goals
The Stoughton Board of Education has laid out three primary goals that are central to our educational mission. These goals include Literacy, Mathematics, and Belonging.
Literacy
In the Fall of 2026, we will observe a 50% reduction in the proficiency gap observed in reading/language arts for students who identify as Black, Hispanic, two or more races, and students with disabilities. We will accomplish this through the acceleration of proficiency for all students.
Mathematics
In the Fall of 2026, we will observe a 50% reduction in the proficiency gap observed in math for students who identify as Black, Hispanic, two or more races, and students with disabilities. We will accomplish this through the acceleration of proficiency for all students.
Belonging
SASD Culture and Climate Committee Definition of Belonging: I see myself; I am seen and cared about here. I contribute to the classroom and school. People notice when I am here. I am offered the support I need, and people have high expectations for me.
Belonging Goal:
Increase in sense of belonging, as measured by responses to SASD School Perception Survey items including:
- “I feel safe at school.”
- “I can be myself at school.”
- ‘Students treat me with respect.”
- “If I have a big problem, there is an adult at school I can talk to about it.
- “I belong at school because I have healthy relationships with other students and adults and am actively involved in school-related activities.” (Connection Index)
