About Mr. Schmidt
Dan Schmidt currently serves as the Band Director at Stoughton High School where his responsibilities include directing the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Viking Marching Band, and teaching AP Music Theory. Dan also serves as advisor to the SHS Rock Band. Prior to his appointment at Stoughton, Dan was an Instrumental Music Instructor at Clintonville High School in Clintonville, WI. A graduate of UW Stevens Point, Dan studied saxophone with Professor David Hastings and conducting with Professor Scott Teeple. In addition to his teaching duties, Dan serves as a WSMA Solo and Ensemble Adjudicator. Dan is also a member of the National Band Association, National Association for Music Education, the Wisconsin Music Educators Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
