5th Grade

Stoughton Area School district uses Quaver Music to teach all students in grades K-5. In 5th Grade, students complete units about The Impressionist Era, Rhythm, Meter, Melody, Chords & Harmony, Listening, Notation, Singing, Instruments, Recorders, and a capstone project where they produce a Commercial using all they have learned. In addition to the learning students complete during class, they can also access all of their lesson content, concert practice materials, educational music games, and music creation tools by logging in to their SASD Quaver Music account anywhere with an Internet connection. Fifth graders have a final concert on the Sandhill stage at the end of May.  This is a student selected concert, they choose the songs, write the script and carry it out with very little direction adult input.
