Ms. Shimon's Bio

Ms. Shimon

I have been at Sandhill since 2012, and I love my job! I really enjoy making music with the kids and have a great time seeing them learn and grow over their 6 years at Sandhill.

My undergrad was at UW-Madison where I earned a BA in Music Education. My Master's degree in Music Education is from UN-Kearney. I taught high school choral music for 15 years in the Milwaukee area, middle school choral music in Madison, and then came to Sandhill.

My sons are both musicians - one plays cello and the other plays tuba and sings. I have two dogs named Cooper (a cockapoo) and Murphy (a bearded collie) that keep me active.

I have done a lot of playing piano in the district and community, and enjoy singing with the Isthmus Vocal Ensemble in Madison in the summers. I love getting outside in every season, especially hiking, biking and kayaking.
