SASD Hosts Successful Legislative Day

STOUGHTON, WI, February 7, 2025 — The Stoughton Area School District welcomed over 24 local, state, and federal officials on Monday, February 3rd, for a day of collaborative dialogue focused on education. The Legislative Day event provided a platform for representatives to engage directly with students and administrators, gaining firsthand insights into the district's strengths and challenges.

Led by District Administrator Dr. Dan Keyser, the delegation, which included Senator Melissa Ratcliff, State Representative Randy Udell, and Tawsif Anam, Field Representative for Senator Ron Johnson, toured Sandhill Elementary School and participated in a student panel. 

"This Legislative Day was an invaluable opportunity to connect with our elected officials and showcase the incredible work happening in our schools," stated Sandhill Elementary Principal, Bob Johnson. "The event allowed for authentic conversations, giving our students a direct voice in shaping their educational future. We appreciate the representatives' genuine interest in understanding our students’ needs."

The day emphasized the importance of collaboration in enhancing the education system. Attendees shared perspectives and worked towards the common goal of providing the best possible learning environment for Stoughton students.
