Making art can be scary– it can be daunting to create your own path in a field where there is no one correct answer– but it can also be fun, chaotic, peaceful, challenging, surprising and exciting. In the Kegonsa Art Room I ask big things of students. Together we explore ideas, history, nature and design all while building our art making skills. My goal is for all students to feel comfortable and confident expressing their thoughts and ideas. Growing up and navigating life can be overwhelming. Art is a way of thinking that can help students claim autonomy, self-worth and knowledge for themselves.
