Principal Welcome

Dear Kegonsa staff, families and community,

It is a great honor to serve as Principal of Kegonsa Elementary School.  As we all know our schools are more than cement walls, they are epicenters of community and places where our children learn and grow by leaps and bounds. Kegonsa is a school filled with dreamers, innovators, and leaders both little and big. I can’t wait to see what the year will bring!

In my tenure in education I have taught across levels (kindergarten through 12th) and across content areas as well as have worked as a bilingual and gifted and talented teacher. Before coming to Kegonsa I was an Assistant Principal at Horizon Elementary in Sun Prairie and  worked as a district coordinator overseeing professional learning in the Department of Student Services and Special Education in the Madison Metropolitan School District. 

Prior to working in education I lived for many years in El Salvador leading a non- profit organization. In my free time I enjoy listening to latin and folk music and reading Spanish literature and Latin American history. 

I live in Madison with my husband Matt, an attorney and muskie fisherman in his free time.  I am also mother to Sofia, Eleanor and Langston.
