Our Athletic Program

We are proud of our athletic program and the great opportunities we have for students. We know that participation in extracurricular activities enhances student life by allowing athletes to acquire self-discipline, improve skills and be recognized for the special talents that they possess. We are committed to sponsoring a wide variety of such activities.

Stoughton High School athletics offers 14 different sports with over 40 competitive teams as well as a state of the art fitness center. All students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of our comprehensive programs as we continually strive for more conference, regional, sectional and state titles.

As educators and coaches, our athletes' education is our #1 priority. We accept the responsibility of helping our athletes become better students. Stoughton High School offers Academic Coaching, an after-school program led by student tutors and teachers. All students are welcome to attend.

As we roll into another sports season, come and check out one of our many events and experience our welcoming atmosphere and great sportsmanship. We pride ourselves on these qualities. One of our goals is to be honored with the WIAA Sportsmanship Award

Statement of Philosophy

The Board of Education & the staff of the Stoughton Area School District believe that every student should have the opportunity to attend school and receive a quality education. Athletic programs are intended to enrich an athlete's learning and foster emotional, intellectual, and physical growth.
