Inclement Weather

In the winter months especially, it is important to monitor the weather and its impact on school operations. Each year, it is not uncommon for snow, ice, or cold to lead to a district-wide school closure. During the spring and summer, we may experience tornados.

About

The decision to close, delay or dismiss school due to inclement weather conditions will be reviewed as early in the weather event as possible.  The District Administrator will confer with the Supervisor of Transportation and his/her area peers prior to making a decision.  The district strives to have decisions communicated out by 6 am to ensure parents/guardians have time to make arrangements for their child(ren) if needed.

Windchill

  • Wind Chill Warning at -35 sustained the district will close for the day, or consider a delayed start if the warning will be lifted in the mid-morning hours

  • Wind Chill Advisory at - 25 degrees we will consider closing for the day

Note, no decision of ours overrides your judgment as a parent/guardian.  You may always choose to attend late, leave early or excuse them for the day.

Ensuring You Receive Communications

Families, please be sure that your contact information is up-to-date in Infinite Campus.

How to Receive Texts from SASD

If you’d like to receive texts from SASD, use your mobile device to text “Y” or “Yes” to our district’s short code number, 67587. If this is unsuccessful, most likely your phone number is not accurate in Infinite Campus. Send us an email at info@stoughton.k12.wi.us, and we'll help you out.
