School Safety

Student and staff safety is our top priority. We want our schools to be safe and welcoming learning environments that nurture the cognitive, social-emotional and physical well-being of all students, staff and families.

We believe that the safest schools are those that foster a climate of support and respect and that instill a sense of learning and belonging. Building security, incident response and threat assessments are vital components.

The SASD Safety Committee works with school administrators and school-based critical response teams to ensure our schools balance the physical safety of our students, staff, and school buildings with the importance of social and emotional safety.

All of us at the Stoughton Area School District work to instill the foundational practices of safe and welcoming schools, utilize mental health and trauma-informed interventions, and respond to any and all incidents at schools and in the community with care and support.

School safety means practicing preparedness and working to prevent unsafe situations.  It means recognizing potential hazards and taking the appropriate steps to protect yourself, students, colleagues, visitors, family and friends.

Help us create a safe and supportive school environment for all students! As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain safe and supportive learning environments, our tip line (Speak Up Speak Out) gives students and parents an easy, anonymous way to report unsafe situations.
